About Me

Hello! This will be my second year teaching second grade at Ray and my ninth year as a public school teacher. I really enjoy second grade, especially watching how children at this age start to use the skills they’ve been learning since they started school. I especially love hearing their ideas and how they connect themselves to the world.

Prior to joining the Ray community, I was a 4/5/6 teacher in San Francisco. I also taught on the north side of Chicago and worked with refugee children in New York for the International Rescue Committee. I received my B.A. in political science from the University of Texas Austin and my M.Ed. in Education from NYU.

I grew up in the Chicago area and now live in Hyde Park with my husband and two children. In my free time, I like picnicking at the Point, riding my bike, spending time with my large family, and catching a yoga class when I can.
