Second Grade Room 214

Just another CUIP Schools weblog site

May 21st

We had so much fun at the Walk-a-thon and next week we will continue on with our A-Z countdown!  May 30th and 31st we will take the final round of NWEA testing.

In class this week….

Math:  We have finished our Everyday Math Curriculum for the year.  We will simultaneously be reviewing past concepts taught and practicing multiplication and other 3rd grade concepts. Many of the kids still need practicing with subtraction and addition so please keep working at home.

Reading Workshop: This week we will return to nonfiction to review nonfiction concepts and skills.  This will revolve a lot around main idea and detail.

Writing Workshop:  We are publishing our poems!  We will continue working on literary language and then transition back to personal narratives to wrap up the year.

Social Studies:  We do not have any passport presentations for this week so if you or anyone you know would like to come in and present please let me know. We will continue working on chess and our map skills.

Science:  We have been observing our silkworms behavior and are now waiting for them to produce silk.  Hopefully it will happen before the end of the year!  We are also studying the life cycle of plants.
